Occupy Wall St. and Everywhere to Stop U.S. Wars for Empire!

...this movement faces a true crossroads. Will it be dispersed, driven into the margins, or co-opted? Or will it come back stronger? This question now poses itself, extremely sharply.

We in The World Can't Wait express our enthusiastic solidarity with the morally and physically courageous youth of Occupy Wall Street and all others now forming occupations in their cities. They have not resigned themselves to accepting the way the world is, but are boldly exposing the towering crimes and audacious lies of this nation’s financial and political elites. They are righteously demanding that it all end and in doing so, enduring brutal attacks by police and the corporate media’s malign neglect.

These actions are an extremely welcome development and a gust of fresh air in the suffocating and poisonous atmosphere that the major parties, the Tea Partiers, and their billionaire sponsors have been propagating and imposing, in this, the "land of the free."

We call on all people to stand with these path-blazing youth and those oppressed by our government, here and around the world. Put your energies, your funds, your thoughts, and your bodies on the line to give voice to the most exploited, ignored, and oppressed who have suffered under the U.S. government's economic, military, and social crimes here and around the globe.

The future is unwritten, which one we get us up to us.

Occupy Everywhere to US: Stop Occupying Afghanistan

by Debra Sweet

An irony acutely felt this week:Occupy Wall Street Against the War

Tens of thousands of people in the U.S., taking the lead from millions in the Middle East, are “occupying” public spaces, seeking change in the world as it is, standing up to authority, power, and blowing the ceiling off expectations that the vast disparity in global income “has to” be as it is.  We’ve got to spread these occupations!

Hundreds of thousands of U.S. military, support staff and private contractors are “occupying” two countries in the Middle East, in a mission to enforce, with a vengeance, U.S. domination over the region, employing night raids, torture, and terror towards the civilian population.  We’ve got to end those occupations!

If You Can't Come in Person, Be a Virtual Occupier in D.C.

Much respect to Jay, a volunteer at our national office who was one of the 700 mass-arrested Saturday at Occupy Wall Street. The arrest has not slowed his work at all as we pack up materials for Washington!  World Can't Wait supports Occupy Wall Street!

Be part of the spirit sweeping the country that things don't have to be this way... we don't have to accept continued war on the world in our name.

If you can't be on the streets occupying and protesting, join us virtually. The World Can't Wait team at Freedom Plaza will paint your sign, and we'll post a photo of it at the sign garden.

Occupy Against U.S. Occupying the Globe

Stop the Occupation of Afghanistan

By Debra Sweet

On October 6, 2001 George W. Bush announced to the world that the U.S. was poised to invade Afghanistan. On October 6, 2011, the world must know that there’s a section of people in this country who are determined that we will not allow these wars to continue in our name.

Think about this decade of war and torture. Understand that on the current trajectory there is no end in sight. Think of the world you would want yourself and others across this planet to live in. And express those thoughts – by being in the streets and on the campuses protesting on October 6, by unleashing a crescendo of creative opposition, by expressing yourself in song, in poetry, in art, in whatever form you can.

October 6, 7, 8 and on!

Protest 10 Years of War and Occupation!
