Anti-WAR Forum: No Matter Who is President

People in the United States Have the Responsibility to Stop the Endless Wars

When: Tuesday, November 11, 7:00 pm

Where: Judson Memorial Church, 55 Washington Square South, NYC

Speakers: Scott Ritter, Larry Everest, Jeremy Scahill, Elaine Brower

Following the election of Barack Obama, noted critics and activists against the US occupation of Iraq will speak on the responsibilities of people in the United States to continue to oppose "endless wars."  The public is invited.

"President-elect Barack Obama promises escalation in Afghanistan, heeding the Bush generals in Iraq, unilateral strikes in Pakistan, threatening Iran, expanding the military, and maintaining U.S. global supremacy.  These aren't antiwar positions -- they're imperialist positions," said writer Larry Everest.

Elaine Brower, whose son is a Marine in Iraq, will speak for thousands of military families.  "After two tours of duty in Iraq, and one in Afghanistan, my son and I have had enough of the games being played with the lives of others by this government.  The Iraqi people want us out now, not in two years, but immediate and complete withdrawal of all US forces inside their country. The people of this country did and always will have the moral responsibility to rise up and demand an end to the 'war of terror' being carried out in our names."

Speakers available for interviews:

Scott Ritter, former US weapons inspector, author of "Waging Peace: The Art of War for the Antiwar Movement' and "Target Iran: The Truth About the White House's Plans for Regime Change"
Larry Everest, writer for Revolution newspaper, author of "Oil, Power and Empire: Iraq and the U.S. Agenda"
